Wise & Watchful-is 22" x 22" made with 3/32" & 1/8" wide strips of hand dyed wool on a rug warp backing. This piece was adapted from a National Georaphic photo by Steve Kaufman-Nature Photography. He gave me permission to use his image for this rug. It has won 3 awards and was a finalist out of 250 rugs from around the world for the 2010 Celebrations XX(a Rug Hooking Magazine publication)
Waving Flag is a primitive piece using mixed cuts as well as mixed colors to form the stripes. This was designed by a friend in the Puckihuddlers Guild. (Jan Adler). I fell in love with the design and had to hook it.
This rose is primitive in cut and in the use of textures. There is 7 shades of color in the rose itself. The strips are 3/16" wide and cut from different plaids of wool. The backing is Fine linen.
