Indiana Arts, Connecting you to a world of art
Barton, Craig

Good art provides intellectual stimulation. It is something you can live with for years and enjoy every day because the expectation is there that you will discover some detail, unnoticed until today, which adds just a tiny bit more pleasure to the experience of living with the work. The images start out as friends and, as good friends do, become better friends over time. My house is filled with art, both of my creation and that of other artists. The stimulation I get from being surrounded by art gives me the inspiration and energy to create art. The art works I create gain interest over time. Every image has some drama. Whether the image is a postage stamp sized piece of elm bark with lichens growing on it, or a stream flowing through rhododendrons and moss covered boulders, or a view straight up a spiral staircase, every image has a story to tell and/or a question to ask.
In 1997, Craig and his wife, Kathy, formed Barton Images to publish and market Craig’s photographic work. Barton Images provides high quality scenic and abstract images on the web site Images formerly represented by Shostal Associates, Photo Library, and Freelance Photographers Guild are now at Craig has taught “Composition in Art and Photography” at Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis Artists’ Guild, High Plains Art and Design Center, and for Missouri Nature and Environmental Photographers.
