Art across Indiana
Indiana Arts, Connecting you to a world of art
Bracik, Todd
Indianapolis, IN 46201
I collect carburetors, bike frames, and fire hydrants…any mechanical artifacts that I can find, really. Each piece has its own unique story. When I use these objects in my sculpture, I get the privilege of giving those objects a new story. I prefer working with steel because of its strength, durability, form, and how it deteriorates.
I graduated in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Indiana University. I also took foundation art courses at Herron School of Art. I have been a nurse’s aide for five years, a welder for two years, and now I work in a video control room monitoring and troubleshooting televised distance learning courses
