Indiana Arts, Connecting you to a world of art
Beatty, Kim

Being a photographer means learning to see the world around you with no bias toward anything or anyone. It is an art that demands patience, skill, and creativity. To be a photographer not only requires one to know the principles of photography and the workings of the camera, but also requires one to rely on instincts and emotions to feel when an image is right. The beauty that lies within photographing people is that every one of us is different. It is my passion and duty as a photographer to document these emotions in such a way that the viewer will know exactly what was felt in that moment in time.
In high school I studied the basics of Black & White photography, as well as having darkroom experience. After I graduated, I took it upon myself to learn more - this time working with color film. I have graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, and have learned the aspects of digital photography. I have appeared on WNIT's Open Studio television program. I have also had a full page feature in the newspaper on The Barn Project.
