The 3 Sense Kaleidoscope (tm) was created to allow 3 senses at the same time to focus on an integrated stimulus. Beautiful images for the eyes, restful and energizing sounds and music for the ears, and captivating aromas of essentials oil blends for the nose are combined for a unique experience. Image The kaleidoscope, through the use of a 2 mirror right angle(90-36-54)prism, provides a spectacular pentagon image(10 fold 5 point). Front surfaced mirror and flocked light sink 3rd side are used inside. The red padauk casing is highlighted with a burl endpiece as well as maple, walnut, and koa parts. The scope can be removed from the base to add mobility. The laminated object image disks were designed with color combinations consistant with current color therapy guidlines. The object disk is the same size as an audio CD so that they could be packaged together for easy product distribution. The flower disk was created by scanning the flowers from my garden and printing that image onto thin paper using a computer CD label program. The paper was then laminated at a local office supply store. Making your own object disk is a very easy project and that means that there could be an unlimited supply of different disks to make and experiment with. To add object versatility, the disks may be positioned in any of 5 different peg positions. These 5 positions affect the radius location and flow characteristics of the disk as it is turned. A strong supplied light source is necessary for correct illumination. (see aroma section) Sound The 2 CDs supplied both consist of natural sounds mixed in different ways with classical and folk music. They are chosen with music therapy principals as a guide. Both CDs were chosen for their uplifting and calming effects. The first CD consists of; 1... Tchaikovsky’s Overture Miniature to The Nutcracker Suite A light rain shower at dusk blankets the meadows around a clear, gentle creek. Songbirds sing good-night from their perches. 2....Donizetti’s Sextet from Lucia di Lammermoor At day’s end, the blazing sun edges over the watery horizon, gilding the heavy Pacific Ocean waves that rhythmically roar toward shore. 3....Schubert’s Ave Maria A crystal clear spring bubbles up from the ground at the edge of a forest, and as the day comes to a close, robins, cardinals, eastern orioles, chickadees, and wood thrushes take to song, livening the pre-night air. 4....Debussy’s Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun In the hushed hours of evening under a canopy of stars near Lake Superior, the only sound comes from the soothing waves lapping against its rugged shoreline. 5......Schubert’s Scene am Bach Part 1 and 2 As blue-gray skies turn ever darker with the loss of sunlight, a family of common loons begins to sing to the woodland surrounding their lake.6.....Chopin’s Etude Deep in the wilderness forest, songbirds share their cheery music, announcing the end of another day. 7 Brahms’ Lullaby In the soft grayness of dusk near a rippling brook and the lake it flows from, wood frogs, a great horned owl, and common loons soothe the skies with their gentle voices. Disk 2 is a combination of rainforest sounds and acoustic music. A journey through our created environment. Brazilian sound and African melodies lead into the inner sanctum of the rain forest. Listen as the tropical wildlife flourishing among the rich, green plants. Aroma and Light Aroma and light are delivered through the lamp/aroma system. A special flourescent light is the heart of the system. Do not use a regular light bulb: too much heat would not do! The lamp only gets warm, provides plenty of light to the scope, a nice glow to the room, and just the right amount of warmth to naturally disperse the essential oils. A single drop of this oil on a Q-tip inserted near the bulb will fill the room with a subtle aroma. When ready for a new aroma a new Q tip should be used. Included are 2 shades of handmade natural paper for the lamp. To use, them gently bend the shade so both ends are captured by the grooves in the wood. Essential Oils Nine blends were chosen for use with the 3 Sense Kaleidoscope (tm). Calming Blend : All the essential oils in this blend are calming and soothing in nature. Inside the cow sculpture is a fully functioning kaleidoscope. The cow is carved out of laminated cherry. Cherry was chosen for the inset legs as well as the tops of the turning object chamber . Contrasting walnut was used on the base along with bubinga knobs that secure the kaleidoscope. Remove the two knobs on the back of the cow and the kaleidoscope portion can slide out. The object chambers use oil to slow the tumbling of the stained, blown, and dichoic glass.2 different themes and color schemes are reflected in the way the object chamber have been filled. The first chamber is filled with lighter and primary colors and images of cows. The 2nd object chamber iis filled with more dichroic glass and colors of pastel palate are chosen to contrast with multi-colored strand glass and blown and molded glass. Octagon shaped tops were chosen for object chambers tops to match the 2 mirror 8 point 16 fold system. Octagon shaped kaleidoscope images are among the most rich

The QuadraLith Kaleidoscope consists of a base made from walnut and padauk chosen for grain beauty and interest. The mirror tubes are also made from the same wood except for the end pieces. Each of the 4 end pieces are made from a different book-matched species of burlwood. The scope design allows 4 people to simultaneously view the 50's artglass object as it is set in motion by the turning handle. Inside the object chamber is a sunlight matched florescent bulb that illuminates the ever-changing art glass. Each mirror system of the 4 is constructed in a different way. About the beauty in the object chamber: Glass This glass was made by important art glass artists in the 1950's and 1960's. Their studios made some of the finest and most sought after collectable slumped glass. Their technique of mixing multi-colored and layered colored glass was a pioneer effort. The use of powdered glass increased the complexity of their designs. This glass is perfect for great kaleidoscopic images. This glass is a rare collectable. I came across a box of broken this glass in my search for beautiful objects for my kaleidoscopes I love to visit other artists and collect glass and other scrap for my scope object chambers. On one visit, I noticed an old yellowed Mayflower moving box that turned out to be full of broken glass shards. This box had been sitting almost 20 years in the local Mayflower storage building and was offered to my artist friend. He had had the glass for a while and had no idea of what to do with it. I believe things happen for a reason and that I was supposed to find that glass. This glass is a thrill to work with and a delight to the eye to view through a kaleidoscope. Each color (lots of 50's & 60's colors) is a different glass fused to each other. I am pleased to offer the QuadraLith Kaleidoscope with genuine Art glass. Because I only have a limited amount of this glass I must limit this edition to 12.
