Description
Cornerstone has an important mission: to nurture community connections by providing opportunities for creative expression, educational programs, and events in a historic setting.
Background
The building and auditorium that is now Cornerstone was once the Masonic Temple. Built by the Ball Family, a local family of 5 brothers known for philanthropy and a fraternal organization, the structure had higher aims than to serve Masonic bodies. Frank C. Ball addressed those gathered for the building’s 1926 dedication by stating, “The banquet hall and its auditorium are open to the public that the whole community might benefit and that its influence may be far reaching and everlasting.” These words have helped to direct the massive structure’s destiny from Masonic Temple to Cornerstone Center for the Arts. However, as the 125,000 square foot building aged into the latter part of the 20th century, the Masonic orders’ memberships began to dwindle. In effect, the caretakers of the building were beginning to diminish in number and the structure itself fell into disrepair.     Cornerstone Center for the Arts provides a beautiful location for community events, wedding receptions, business meetings, seminars, and more. It is also home to the Cornerstone Arts Program, which offers classes year round in the arts. Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Theatre, Martial Arts, Writing and Language -- you can do it all at Cornerstone! Classes are affordable, taught by experts in each field, and highly intearctive. All classes are regularly listed at www.cornerstonearts.org, where you can find out more information about the services offered, facility rental rates, upcoming events, and more.

Visitor Information
Business Office Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm (Monday-Friday) Arts Classes: Monday-Thursday. Sessions begin in the fall, spring, and summer. Special Events, as scheduled. Elevator Access to all floors. Wheelchair accessibility throughout the building.

Portfolio
The Youth Hip Hop class performs at the Cornerstone Celebration, an open house that showcases each class at the end of the semester.
