Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art
920 E. State St.
Lafayette, IN 47905
The Haan Mansion Museum collects, conserves and displays important paintings and ceramics by Indiana artists, along with rare American antique furniture in an architecturally significant building to increase awareness of and appreciation for the artistic heritage of Indiana. This mission is further accomplished by loaning works to other institutions to share with their visitors.
The Connecticut Building from the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair serves as the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art, housing the Museum's exceptional collection of oil paintings by Indiana artists from the 1830's to present and both historic and current Indiana pottery. The mansion is furnished almost entirely in massive scale American antique furniture predominantly from the 1860 to 1890 Renaissance Revival period. The Haan Mansion Museum began a regular tour schedule in September 2013. Holiday tours held in collaboration with the Wabash Valley Trust for Historic Preservation in 2013 attracted over 800 paying guests. The Museum has established two endowment funds at the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, one for operating costs and the other for maintenance.
