I have been doing crafts/arts since 1965. I began by working in the textile arts, through knitting, crochet, tatting and crewel. I now design clothing items, afghans and lace coverlets and curtains. During the 1980’s, I tried a number of weaving techniques and expressions but settled on the creation/design of rag rugs. I began painting 2002. I applied my concepts of color and texture to wall treatments through faux finishes to reproducing the blue sky, fluffy white clouds, birds and angles. My painted furniture is an expression of the relationship between color and nature. My favorite piece of painted furniture presents a surprise on each new surface. I have painted items as large as a footlocker. For furniture, I generally use latex, indoor/outdoor multipurpose paint with the detail in acrylics. The expression of my passion is fine art. I use both acrylics and oils. I gain my inspiration through travel, conversation, and photographs. Nature is my primary inspiration. I l
