Art across Indiana
Indiana Arts, Connecting you to a world of art
Bell, Janet Cheatham
Bloomington, IN 47401
The history and culture of African Americans has been too long neglected and should be better known. My work is meant to make this information accessible to the general public by couching it in popular forms.
I majored in English at Indiana University and did graduate work in the English doctoral program at Stanford University. I have published seven books of quotations--five of which were commissioned--by people of African descent. I have also published a book of essays and a brief history of the NAACP. I am currently working on a memoir about growing up in Indiana.
